LIMESTONE, Maine — The Limestone Community School Student Council has brought back the Student of the Month program for high school students. Selected as Students of the Month for April were Amanda Sossong and Victor Negron.
“Mandy” is a senior who has been consistently on the honor roll during her time at LCS. She is said to have been an outstanding school citizen, and spent most of her study period this year delivering snacks to the elementary classes.
Amanda plans to attend Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston in the fall.
Victor is a sophomore, and has been a member of the basketball, volleyball and baseball teams. He was selected because of his improving academic performance, as well as his friendly and positive attitude, said LCS officials.
Victor is also active in Aroostook League Football outside of school.
A committee of Student Council representatives and LCS high school teachers chose the students, who were nominated by their teachers based on their academic performance, extracurricular activities and school citizenship.
