Viola Paradis

ARSH Viola ParadisParadis, Viola, 84, July 6, 2015.  Calling hours are today, July 8, from 9 a.m. at Mockler Funeral Home, Caribou, until time of services.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at the St. Catherine’s Catholic Church.  Interment to be held in the Northern Maine Veterans Cemetery.  A time of continued fellowship will follow at the Paradis home in Washburn.  Arrangements by Mockler Funeral Home, Caribou.


 

    WASHBURN – Viola Paradis, 84, wife of the late Herman Paradis, passed away July 6, 2015, at her Washburn residence with her family by her side. She was born in Washburn on September 17, 1930, the daughter of the late Willie and Philomena (Fournier) Saucier.
    Viola married the love of her life, Herman Paradis November 25, 1947. She was a very devout Catholic who prayed the Rosary daily. She was an active member of St. Catherine’s in Washburn and the Ladies of St. Anne. She is now living her fourth day. Viola loved and enjoyed her grandchildren and was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother who also worked very hard for Taterstate and McCain Foods for over 34 years.
    Mrs. Paradis was predeceased by her husband, Herman; sisters, Amelia St. Germain, Annie Bouchard and Jean Soucy, as well as a brother, William Saucier. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Dana Caron and Brenda and Arnie Devoe, all of Washburn, and a son and daughter-in-law, Leland and Terry Paradis of Spring City, TN; her grandchildren, Leland Caron and wife, Heather, and Leslie Martin and husband, Dan, all of Washburn, Starla Lawrence and husband, Stanley, of Baldwin, GA, and Tyler Paradis of Spring City, TN; her great-grand-children, Noah, Ainsley, and Grant Caron, Mallory and Jordyn Martin, Shayla and Alexis Enman and Kenneth Lawrence; several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Eva Kirk.
    Friends may call at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou from 9 a.m. Wednesday, July 8, 2015, until time of services. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. from St. Catherine’s Catholic Church. Interment will be in the Northern Maine Veterans Cemetery. Following the services all are invited to a time of continued fellowship and refreshments at the Paradis home in Washburn. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to everyone at Hospice of Aroostook for the care and devotion shown to Viola and the family these past few months.
