FORT FAIRFIELD, Maine — The second class of Fort Fairfield High School’s Athletic Hall of Fame has been announced and includes eight outstanding athletes and two coaches who will be inducted into the shrine on Thursday, July 16 at FFHS. A few tickets still remain for the banquet and ceremony, which begins at 5 p.m. with a social hour followed by the meal at 6 p.m.
The list of athletes being inducted includes Ed Adams, Class of 1969, who was a multi-sport star athlete in basketball, baseball and track; Ralph Clark, Class of 1946, also a multi-sport standout in basketball, baseball and track; Rachelle Cormier Roy, Class of 1991, a state champion in track and multi-sport athlete; Robin Davenport, Class of 1984, who earned 12 varsity letters and started in basketball, softball, soccer and field hockey all four years; Shawn Manter, Class of 1989, a 1,000-point scorer in basketball and member of the 1988 Eastern Maine Class C championship team; Kim McCrea Dorsey, Class of 1996, a multi-sport star earning 12 letters in skiing, soccer and softball and state runner-up in freestyle skiing; Danielle Searles, Class of 2004, a multi-sport star and four-year starter in soccer, basketball and softball; and Frank Thibodeau, Class of 1975, a three-sport standout and state champion in cross country skiing, track and cross country running.
The coaches being inducted are Lenny Cole, the boys soccer coach from 1970-82 who won an Eastern Maine title; and Gary Janosco, a 32-year educator and state champion baseball coach.
Honored guests will include last year’s inductees, along with this year’s two student-athlete recipients of the Athletic Boosters Club’s $1,000 scholarships — Caleb Daigle and Robert Watson.
