HOULTON — Officials from the Houlton Agricultural Fair recently announced the names of those who won prizes in various displays throughout the event.
The exhibit hall was described as “kind of quiet this year,” with only 43 entries for photos, crafts, flower arrangements and so forth. Brittany Benn brought in her beautiful quilts, one for competition and one being raffled off by the local quilting guild. They made for attractive wall displays.
Cooking contests started off the fair with a Spam contest. First prize went to Becky MacIlroy for her Spam soup, which was very tasty. Second place was Janice Lebell with her macaroni salad, and third place was Mary Harbison for her Spam and pasta skillet recipe.
