Part of the fun at the Houlton State Agricultural Fair are the games. As proven by the photograph above, there is never a shortage of participants, especially in the egg toss. During the Moxie drinking contest, the boy on the left could guzzle his bottle, but the poor guy on the right did not think that Moxie tasted that great.

Gavin Drew tries unsuccessfully to catch his cookies before they tumble during the children’s Oreo stacking contest July 2. All the kids love teh challenge of the Pig Scramble, but sometimes those little piglets have their own minds.

Cameron Callnan can move his hips, as he was the winner in Hula-Hoop Contest for his age. No fair is complete without plenty of kids’ rides and smiles to match.

Angela Campos could not go without fair french fries. This youngster discovered how slippery an eel can be during the Eel Racing event on Kids Day at the fair.

DEMOLITION MAN — Austin Woods raises his arms in the air to show he is OK, after his car got turned on its side Sunday in the demolition derby. DERBY — Logan Holmes, in the No. 87 automobile, nearly goes airborne as he crashes into another car in the compact division of the demolition derby.

 OWN PATH — A participant in the Lawn Mower races made his own path, as he missed the corner.  CELEBRATES — David Beals shows off the trophy after winning the firefighter competition at Sunday’s demolition derby. It marks the second straight year that Houlton Fire Department has won the event.

 LEANS — Caden Foster leans in on the turns during the Lawn Mower races held at Community Park during the fair. TIPS — Brian Beals’ opponent tips his lawn mower as the two battled around the corner. The lawn mowers are modified for the race. The operator was not hurt and the races are fun to be in and to watch.
