Senior Companions

The Senior Companion Program, offered through the UMAINE Center on Aging, provides a way to help homebound elders stay independent and in their own homes longer. Senior Companion volunteers are active adults age 55 and older, who visit and provide companionship for homebound individuals and may also provide respite services for family caregivers.

Kim Hazlett, coordinator of the program for Aroostook County, will be the guest speaker at the regular Town and Country Seniors meeting on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at 12 p.m. The meeting will take place at the Gentle Memorial Building in Houlton, downstairs in the kitchen dining area. A potluck lunch will be served, and anyone interested in learning more about the Senior Companion Program is invited to attend.
Town and Country Seniors meet the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month for lunch and fellowship together and seek to share information about topics of interest for our senior community.
