MARS HILL — Karter Ray Bell, 33, passed away on July 15, 2015. He was born on September 22, 1981, in Presque Isle, Maine to Bryan and Marie Parks Bell.
Karter was a 2000 graduate from Central Aroostook High School in Mars Hill. Following high school he attended Northern Maine Community College, graduating in 2002 with an Associate’s Degree in Diesel Mechanics. Karter was a part of Bell Brother’s farm, where he grew potatoes with his father, brother and grandfather. He took great joy in teaching his children about farming, especially bringing them to work with him during the fall harvest. Karter was so skilled at some of his jobs on the farm, he had time to go home for a snack before anyone knew he was missing, or so he thought!
Karter was a great dad and husband who loved taking his family camping and hiking at Baxter State Park every year. He also enjoyed snowmobiling, dirt biking and skiing with his children. Karter’s love for his parents and siblings was very evident in his daily life. Karter was known for his big heart, always willing to help anyone in need.
In March of this year, Karter began attending Teen Challenge Maine in Winthrop, a Christian faith-based program, where he was very excited about the progress he was making and his growing relationship with the Lord.
He is survived by his parents, Bryan and Marie Bell; his wife, April; and his two children, Landen and Lily; a brother, Kramer and his wife, Mindy, all of Mars Hill; one sister, Katie and her husband, Phillip Din, of Syracuse, New York; grandfather, Gary Bell of Mars Hill and grandmother, Patty Bell of Presque Isle; in-laws, Edward and Mary Richard, Wade and Amanda Taylor, Garrett and Amanda Cushman and family, and James Richard. Karter also loved his nephews and nieces, Dayton, Deklan, and Danica Taylor, and Porter and Polly Bell, all of Mars Hill. He had many special uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends who loved him dearly.
Karter was predeceased by his older brother, Kalen Bryan Bell.
