PROBUS members meet at Mantle Lake
PRESQUE ISLE — PROBUS Club of Central Aroostook held its monthly meeting July 16 at Mantle Lake Park.
President Dana Crory conducted the business meeting. Secretary and Treasurer minutes were read and accepted. A report was given announcing the club’s scholarship recipient, Grayden J. Hemphill, a graduate of Presque Isle High School in June who will attend Northern Maine Community College in the electrical construction and maintenance course.
The nominating committee presented the 2015-16 slate of officers: president, Dana Crory; vice president, Mel Fitzherbert; secretary, Ruth Barnes; treasurer, Gerry Gallagher (with Dick Barker as backup); and program chair, Ginny Joles.
Suggestions were made for upcoming programs. A delightful picnic followed the meeting with all participating. Barker and guest Carmen Dickinson provided wonderful music.
The next meeting will be held Aug. 20 at Reed Commons at NMCC. Guests are welcome.
