This year August Fest in Washburn will be the weekend of Aug. 14, 15 and 16, 2015.

Washburn Troop 177
During the week of July 5-11 July, Washburn Scout Troop 177 traveled to Katahdin Scout Reservation in East Eddington to attend their annual summer camp with about 400 other scouts and leaders.
The Scouts worked on advancement as well as waterfront activities and the adults completed some worthwhile projects at the camp. Washburn’s troop was awarded the coveted Honor Troop award for their excellence in site inspection, camp projects and advancement as well as their excellent scout spirit observed from several throughout the week.
The troop is busy getting ready for the August Festival and the North Star District Fall Camporee to be held at their Troop Camp in September, celebrating the 50th anniversary of Troop 177.
Birthdays
Those celebrating a birthday between Aug. 5 and 11 include: Kevin Burtt, Virginia Farley, Barb Churchill, Justin Clayton, Edward Woodman, Ron Ericson, Debbie Drost, Carolyn Rossignol, Barb Drost, Autumn Creasey and Tabitha Blakney.
Anniversaries
Those celebrating an anniversary between Aug. 5-11 include: Chuck and Carol Mahoney, Dana and Barb Caron, Lyman and Velma Sperrey, Gary and Louise Cole, Sheldon and Sandi Cunningham, and Dale and Marci Driscoll.
