Sandstrom is the executive director of Aroostook County Action Program, Inc.
“Connie has served as a thought leader and valuable contributor to the foundation’s work since 2006. It is an honor to have Connie as our board chair,” explained MeHAF’s president and CEO, Dr. Wendy Wolf.
“Connie’s experience and knowledge about the issues affecting people with low-incomes allow her to provide an important perspective regarding the barriers our most vulnerable residents face as they access health services,” Wolfe added.
Connie has been with ACAP since 1988 and has served as its executive director since 1995. In addition to her board service at MeHAF, she has served on a number of other local and State boards and advisory committees including Maine Community Action Association, Northern Maine Community College Foundation, Community Care, Aroostook Regional Transportation System, Grace Interfaith Food Table and Eastern Maine HomeCare.
The Maine Health Access Foundation’s mission is to promote access to quality health care, especially for those who are uninsured and underserved, and improve the health of everyone in Maine. MeHAF works with nonprofit partners and key leaders in the public and private sectors to advance initiatives and policies that particularly help those who face barriers accessing health care services and achieving optimal health.
Each year the Foundation provides approximately $4 million in grant and program funding to support activities aligned with its mission.
