Arts group resumes movie events with Aug. 12 show

PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Aroostook Partners in the Arts is resuming their family-orientated movies at the Braden Theatre in Presque Isle on Wednesday, Aug. 12, at 10 a.m. showing “The Wizard of Oz.”

Moviegoers will have the opportunity to mingle with characters in full costume. The price of $10 includes the movie, a bag of popcorn, a drink, a lollipop, and a chance to win one of three door prize baskets of goodies and a movie pass.

Aroostook Partners in the Arts was organized in 1995 to work with local schools to develop, support and co-sponsor high-quality performing arts, visual arts and humanities experiences for school-age children throughout central Aroostook.  Over the years, Partners has raised and given out grants to local school is excess of $30,000.

Partners usually meets at Presque Isle’s Mark and Emily Turner Memorial Library each month on the second Tuesday at 12 p.m. For more information, contact Judy Kenney at 764-1787 or Heather Harvell at 749-1075.
