On a recent Friday evening while visiting Shin Pond, I discovered after dinner that my heart meds were back in southern Maine, 275 miles away. With no phone service but with help from the clerk at Shin Pond store at the top of the hill loaning us a phone and a very understanding pharmacist and manager of
Houlton’s Hannaford 50-plus miles away, we were fortunate because they were willing to stay overtime and allow us to get the medication keeping the store open 30 minutes after closing time.
We are eternally grateful.
