HOULTON – Wanda L. Folsom, 56, passed away July 28, 2015, at her residence. She was born Dec. 17, 1958, in Houlton, the daughter of Robert B. and Nina (McQuarrie) Folsom.
Wanda grew up in Houlton and was a graduate of Houlton High School, Class of ‘77. She was employed at Aroostook County Jail for many years and was a broker for A.N. Deringer, Inc. until the time of her passing. Wanda loved spending time with her family, especially her great-nieces and great-nephews. She enjoyed watching NASCAR and playing cards with family and friends. Wanda was a great friend to those that knew her. She had a heart of gold.
Wanda is survived by her sister, Beth Sylvia and her husband, Charlie, of Houlton; two nephews, Ryan Sylvia and his wife, Heather of Chapman, Jared Sylvia and his wife, Melissa, of Houlton; stepfather, Carl Kirner of Colorado; stepsister, Debbie Varney and her husband, Michael, of Houlton, their daughters, Amanda and Michelle; the lights of her life, great-nieces and great-nephews, Madelyn, Calli, Rylee Jo, Michael, Mylee, Averi and Wyatt; two aunts, Maxine Farrar and her husband, Wayne, Gail Cleaves and her husband, Duane, all of Florida; uncle Richard McQuarrie and his wife, Maureen, of Washington State; and a special friend, Lisa Condon. She was predeceased by her father, Robert Bruce Folsom, and her mother, Nina (McQuarrie) Folsom Kirner.
Friends called at the Dunn Funeral Home Friday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at 12 noon with Deacon Al Burleigh officiating. A reception followed the service in the training room at the Houlton Fire Station. Interment was in the Evergreen Cemetery.
