Berry aces hole at Presque Isle CC

Jim Berry of Presque Isle recorded a hole-in-one at Presque Isle Country Club July 29.

Berry used a six-iron for the hole-in-one on the 146-yard eighth hole. Witnessing the shot was Bill Casavant.

Registration continues for PI fall rec programs

The Presque Isle Recreation and Parks Department has opened registration for a couple programs being offered later this summer.

Soccer registration runs through Aug. 12 and is for girls and boys in grades Pre-K through sixth.

Cross country running is for grades 3-5 and registration will wrap up on Aug. 12.

Youth will be able to participate in both running and soccer if they choose.

For each program, the fee for residents is $25. Non-residents must pay that fee plus a $50 per family fee.

Soccer clinic

The Caribou Viking Mini-Vike soccer clinic for girls and boys in grades 1-6 will be held Monday Aug. 10 to Friday Aug. 14 from 10-11:30 a.m. at Caribou High School.

The clinic fee is $25, payable on the first day of clinic to Caribou Athletics.

Spud Speedway results

Dwayne Seekins of Stockton Springs captured the victory in the 100-lap Street Stock feature held Sunday at Spud Speedway in Caribou.

Seekins finished ahead of runner-up Jeff Willette of Presque Isle and third-place Jeffery Alley of Machias for the win.

A full card of races were held, with Gage Theriault of Limestone taking the Kids Kart division, Chase Chandler of Presque Isle the Senior Champ Karts, Brayden Thibodeau of Caswell the Junior Champ Karts, Wayne Fox Jr. of Caribou the Enduro class, Matt Lloyd of Drummond, New Brunswick the Northern Lights and Chris Ryan of Newburgh the Pro Stock.
