Recreation center hours

Hours at the Caribou Wellness and Recreation Center are Monday through Friday from 6 a.m.-6 p.m. The facility is closed Saturdays and Sundays.

Soccer programs

Grades 1-2 soccer begins this month and is offered in two sessions. Session I meets Mondays and Wednesdays and Session II meets Tuesdays and Thursdays. The meeting time is 3-4:30 and pre-registration is required.

Player meetings for the grades 3-4 and grades 5-6 leagues will take place Wednesday, Aug. 19. Grades 3-4 is from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Teague Park Field and grades 5-6 is from 6:45-8 p.m. at the Paul Soucie Memorial Field on Sincock Street. All players must be registered by the end of these meetings. The fee is $18 for residents.

Coaches needed

Adults are needed to assist with the youth soccer program. Prior experience with coaching or with the game of soccer is not required. Interested individuals should contact the recreation office at 493-4224. A coaches meeting will take place at the wellness center on Thursday, Aug. 10 at 6 p.m.

Take It Outside fall series

Trips planned for August are: Aug. 18, Fox Family Potato Chips tour in Mapleton; Aug. 19, Wednesday Evening Fiddlers; Aug. 22-23, Allagash Wilderness Waterways overnight trip; Aug. 25, Edmunston Botanical Gardens, Petit Sault Craft Brewer trip; Aug. 27, KIngs Landing; and Aug. 29, Kayaking Outing to the Floating Islands in Portage.
