PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Pre-paid registrations for the Aug. 24 to Oct. 3, 2015 session of swim classes are being accepted at the William Haskell Community Center.
Lessons are held at Gentile Hall at the University of Maine at Presque Isle and has openings in the following classes:
Parent/Toddler (6 months to 3 years), which requires an adult to be in the water, has spaces available Tuesday, 9-9:25 a.m.; Thursday, 6-6:25 p.m. and Saturday, 9-9:25 a.m.
PRE 1-ages 3-5, not comfortable in the water, has openings Tuesday, 4-4:25 p.m.; Wednesday, 10:30-10:55 a.m. and 3-3:25 p.m.; Friday, 9-9:25 a.m. and Saturday, 9:30-9:55 a.m.
PRE 2-ages 3-5, comfortable in the water, has openings Monday, 10-10:25 a.m.; Tuesday, 9:30-9:55 a.m., 4:30-4:55 p.m., 5:30-5:55 p.m. and 6-6:25 p.m.; Wednesday, 10-10:25 a.m.; 4-4:25 p.m.; and 4:30-4:55 p.m.; Thursday, 9-9:25 p.m. and 6:30-6:55 p.m.; Friday, 9:30-9:55 a.m. and Saturday, 10-10:25 a.m.
PRE 3-Ages 3-5, swimming, has openings Tuesday, 5-5:25 p.m. and Saturday, 10:30-10:55 a.m.
Learn to Swim 1 is for children 6-12 years old. This level is for the beginner that has a fear of the water and has openings Thursday at 5-5:50 p.m.
Learn to Swim 2 is for the beginner who is comfortable in the water but not swimming. This level has openings Tuesday, 4-4:50 p.m.; Wednesday, 5-5:50 p.m.; Thursday, 9:30-10:20 a.m. and 5-5:50 p.m.; and Saturday, 9-9:50 a.m.
Learn to Swim 3-4 has openings Tuesday, 9-9:50 a.m. and 5-5:50 p.m.; Wednesday, 6-6:50 p.m.; Thursday, 4-4:50 p.m. and Saturday, 10-10:50 a.m.
Learn to Swim 5-6 has openings Tuesday from 9:50-10:40 a.m. and 6-6:50 p.m.
Adapted lessons for children with autism are offered and require an adult in the water. Classes are offered Thursday from 3-3:50 p.m.
Adult lessons are offered Wednesday, 9-9:50 a.m. and Thursday, 6-6:50 p.m.
Shallow water exercise classes are held Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 10-10:50 a.m.
Deep water exercise classes are held Monday and Wednesday from 4-4:50 p.m.
