ISLAND FALLS, Maine — Our 50-year celebration continues. Mother Nature graced us with a Blue Moon for our annual Moonlight Golf Tournament and great golf weather for the Rush Family golfers on Thursday, July 30.
Results the Pairs and Spares Mixed Scramble were: Pairs & Spares Mixed Scramble — 1, Carol Blood, Greg Gayne, Goldie Gushee and Steve Merry minus-6; 2, April Bates, Francis Cyr, Sara Douglas and Jenness Gushee, –3; 3, Sally Cyr, Greg Douglas, Dawn Merry and Di Tucker, –2 (decided by tiebreaker).
Pairs and Spares golfers will meet on this Sunday only at 4 p.m. There is a $2.50 entry fee per person.
On Friday, July 31, we hosted our Annual Moonlight Golf Tourney. We had a field of 36 for this 9-hole event. First gross with a 32 was Anthony Bohovich, Adam Swanson, Trevor Graves and Drew Perry; second gross was Chris Eastham, Grady Anderson, Ken Eastham and Kevin Carton, 34. First net, with a 19.9, was Brandon Savage, Greg “Guido” Gayne, Doug Atkinson and Travis Brownlee, while second net with a 26.1 was Rick Robinson, Riley Robinson, Garth “Dude” Townsend and Brianna Majakowski. Thank you to all who participated in continuing our 50-year celebration.
This Sunday, Aug. 7, is our County Open four-person scramble. Sign up with your four-person team for this charity event that supports The Health Services Foundation. The cost is $50/person (cart is not included). You may register at Va Jo Wa or by calling Jackie White at 521-2150.
