Prepared by city grant writer Kim Smith, the display showcased the Star City’s history and how Main Street has changed over the years.

The decision to participate in the pavilion was partially driven by the city’s mission, which is to preserve Presque Isle’s heritage and natural beauty while delivering public programs and services that encourage health, happiness and prosperity.  The exhibit featured 45 8” x 10” photographs of businesses along Main Street from Chapman Street to State Street.

This is the 18th year of the historical event at the fair. Each year, the Pavilion, through public voting, recognizes the best overall exhibit, the most knowledgeable staff, the best living history display, the best historical artifact, and the best display by a business.

Booth space is free in the Historical Pavilion for museums, historical societies, and businesses over 40 years old who wish to highlight their history in the community.  Typically, there are over 40 exhibits visited by over 1,000 people during the three-day event.
