The Purple Hat ladies met at the Smyrna-Merrill Historical Society for their Aug. 11, meeting. Cindy Gray announced the August birthdays and led the singing of Happy Birthday. Several games were played including The Dessert Personality game, Fashionable Girls game (won by Cindy Gray), and the Candy game gave us all a hard time.
Jackie Colella was the winner of the drawing of the month. We started a new Purple Hat poem and Sandra Holmes will add the next verse. It was decided to go to the Merrill Stream Park for our next meeting and hot dogs and rolls will be the menu with the members bringing something to share.
Thanks to the SMHC for a delicious luncheon. Wannetta Townsend asked the blessing. Readings by Cindy and Wannetta were enjoyed. A new Clap Your Hands game was introduced and will be continued with new moves added next meeting so be sure to practice.
