Olive M. Saucier

 

CARIBOU – Olive M. Saucier, 90, wife of the late John Saucier, passed away Monday morning, August 10, 2015 at a Caribou healthcare facility, following an extended illness. She was born June 11, 1925, in Woodland, the daughter of Perley and Laura (Grondin) Searles.

She attended Woodland schools and was married to John Saucier on January 17, 1942. Olive was a communicant of the Parish of the Precious Blood, Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Caribou for many years and had been employed by Aroostook Shoe and Vahlsing Enterprises prior to her retirement. Olive loved playing cards, especially Rummy. She adored her family, most especially her grandchildren and great- grandchildren. Olive was also a wonderful cook and was known for her zucchini bread.

In addition to her parents, Olive was predeceased by her husband, John, on January 20, 2005; three brothers, James, Elden and Luther Searles; and one sister, Madeline Searles. She is survived by two sons, Bobby J. Saucier, and Richard J. Saucier and his wife, Diane, all of Caribou; one daughter and son-in-law, Joan and William “Bill” Wade of Dover, Delaware; one brother, Guy Searles of Caribou, two sisters, Caroline Searles and MarilynChase, both of Woodland; nine grandchildren; 17 great- grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

In keeping with Olive’s wishes, there will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Friday August 14, 2015, at 10 a.m. at the Parish of the Precious Blood, Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 31 Thomas Avenue, Caribou with Fr. Kyle Doustou celebrant. Interment followed at the New Holy Rosary Cemetery, Route 161, Caribou.
