The soccer season got underway for at least one squad as Southern Aroostook battled Washburn to a 2-2 stalemate Friday evening. It was the fourth game of the year for Washburn, who starts early due to harvest recess.

Scoring goals for SACS were Kassidy Mathers and Aaliyona Wenzloff, while Lily Leavitt had an assist. Marissa Boulier stopped 11 of 13 shots in goal for SACS (0-0-1).
For Washburn (1-2-1), Kristen Sarmiento and Emily Churchill each scored a goal. Grace Braley had eight saves on 10 shots.
