CARIBOU – Joel Leonard Chalou, 83, passed away peacefully due to prolonged health issues on August 27, 2015 in Caribou. Joel was born March 9, 1932, in Ashland, the son of Joseph and Ida (Duprey) Chalou.

Joel grew up in the North Caribou area and was well known and liked by many. He was a quiet, gentle and pleasant individual who would always bring a smile to others. He was humble and always happy to share time with friends and family for coffee, eating out, etc.
He was loved by his five sisters: Elaine Greenfield, Anna Garrity, Linda Thulen, Hilda Kachnor, Kathy Perkins and special friends Irving Michaud and Edwina Levasseur.
A graveside service will be held at the Sacred Heart Cemetery on Thursday, September 3 at 11 a.m. Arrangements by Mockler Funeral Home, Caribou. www.mocklerfuneralhome.com
