    ADDINGTON, Edward J., Sr., 70, August 24, 2015.  Interment was held in the Linneus Cemetery.  Arrangements by Bowers Funeral Home, Houlton.

    American Flag ColorPT Edward AddingtonHOULTON – Edward J. Addington, Sr., 70, passed away August 24, 2015. He was born January 3, 1945, in Bangor, the son of Paul and Jeannie (McQuarrie) Addington.
    He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and is appreciated for his years of service. Edward liked spending time with his family and his granddaughter and enjoyed listening to music on the radio and watching certain TV shows. When he was able, he attended the McGill’s Band performances at Monument Park every Thursday night throughout the summer. He had a good life working for different farmers in the area. The last job he held before retiring was working for the Town of Linneus, tending to the cemetery grounds as well as other town properties.
    Edward is survived by his wife of 38 years, Linda B. Addington of Houlton; two sons, Edward J. Addington, Jr. of Saco and Paul W. Addington of Sanford; two step-daughters, April D. Hallett and her companion and family friend, Byron G. Foster of Linneus, and June M. Thurston and her husband, Martin Thurston, of Fairfield; and a granddaughter, Tessie J. Thurston of Fairfield. He was predeceased by his parents and a granddaughter, Amelia Thurston. The family would like to thank all of the doctors, nurses and hospice care workers for all of their help during this difficult time.
    Friends called 6-8 p.m., Friday, August 28, 2015, at Bowers Funeral Home, 10 Water St., Houlton. Interment was held in the Linneus Cemetery.
