Primitive Shop’s Rustic Offerings

Suitable for Any Occasion

If you are looking for a gift for someone special or if you are doing some redecorating, The Olde Rustic Attic has just what you are looking for.

Steve and Paula Reynolds have been doing crafts for more than three decades and that has led to opening the store in the mall. They used to sell their creations in the mall just at Christmastime. In 2005, they were offered a small storefront and the dream became a reality: The Olde Rustic Attic was born.
They opened the store in the spring of 2006, starting off with a small inventory, and built the business from there.
“We go on three buying trips a year and find new and exciting products,” said Paula. “Sometimes we took a wrong turn on a country road and found a new crafter.”
This will be their 10th year of business in the mall.
“We are constantly changing things around. Last year we expanded and added a primitive room with a great primitive feel,” Steve said.
They still carry primitive furniture, curtains, prints, candles, tart warmers and tarts, braided rugs, signs, berry garlands and now carry scarves, jewelry, and a small selection of cards.
This year they put out fall and Christmas décor in July at the request of some customers. Paula noted it has been nice not to have to box new arrivals up for a couple of months, and more holiday decor is coming in weekly.
“This year has been a little tough with at least four more stores closing and the Canadian discount being so high. We have people ask us all the time if we are closing, too,” Paula said. “We have a lease through two more Christmas seasons and then we will see what is in the cards for us.”
She advised a small thing people could do help small businesses out would be to share posts about sales, new products or events on Facebook.
“We so appreciate the customers that come in and support our little business,” Paula and Steve added. “The money made at small local businesses stays in our communities and that is good for everyone.”
The Reynolds encourage everyone to check them out on Facebook. “And please share our posts. We will list new products and sales on our page.”
Business hours are Monday-Saturday 9:30-8 and Sunday 11-5.
