PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Maine Wabanaki REACH will hold an ally workshop Saturday, Oct. 3, from 9:30 a.m.-4 p.m., at the University of Maine at Presque Isle.
The workshop is designed for non-Native people and provides an opportunity to reflect on shared history and future. A similar workshop was held last spring in Houlton.
Included will be a very brief history of U.S. government relationships with Native peoples, awareness of white privilege, ally responsibilities, and support for sharing this information within the larger community.
Space is limited. Register by contacting Barbara Kates at barbara@mainewabanakioutreach.org or at 951-4874 or 947-6858.
Maine Wabanaki REACH is a collaborative organization of Wabanaki and Maine people working toward truth, healing and change.
