The Oakfield Senior Citizens met Sept. 16 at the Oakfield Snowsled Club with 18 members for a potluck lunch.
Wanetta Townsed said grace and we enjoyed a nice lunch. We would like to have new seniors to join us for lunch, a meeting and entertainment at 11 a.m. on the first and third Tuesdays of each month. You will enjoy the benefits of the cooks in this area.
The 50/50 was won by George Barrows.
The Lord’s Prayer and Flag Salute were recited, and the secretary’s and treasurer’s reports given.
Cards were signed and sent out to different people, and a birthday song was sung for the birthday girl of the month.
All senior citizens of the area are invited to a community dinner put on by the Dollars for Scholars at 11 a.m.
Robert Locke brought a booklet of “oldie” songs and we enjoyed singing some.
Attending were Sharon Anderson, George Barrows, Kathleen Boutilier, Verna Boone, Bernice Campbell, Earl and Lottie Doughty, Naci Fowler, Arlene Friel, Donna Furrow, Mildred Gagnon, Marie Gillotti, Sandra Holmes, Ursula Levesque, Robert and Delores Locke, Iona Nadeau and Wanetta Townsend.
