HOULTON, Maine — A local man was taken to a Bangor hospital Sept. 15 after he was injured when a tractor flipped over while he was riding on it.
Joseph Fitzpatrick, 33, was driving the tractor down a hill when he applied the brakes and they locked up, state police Sgt. Jeffrey Clark said in a press release issued Sept. 15. As a result, the 1978 John Deere jerked off the right side of the road, where the machine lost a rear wheel and flipped over, according to the release.
Fitzpatrick was taken by Houlton Ambulance to Houlton Regional Hospital and then transferred to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor to be treated for unspecified injuries. A spokesman for the hospital said no information was available on Fitzpatrick’s condition.
A call to state police seeking more details about the accident was not immediately returned.
