Rowena Chassie Turbeville

 

     CARIBOU and MANCHESTER, CT — Rowena Chassie Turbeville, 94, wife of the late Norman Chassie and William Turbeville, died Thursday, September 17, 2015, at Manchester, CT. She was born August 27, 1921, in Fort Fairfield, the daughter of the late Edmund and Blanche (Wright) Shorey. She had been a resident of White Oaks in Manchester, CT, for the past 10 years.

     Prior to her retirement she was a bookkeeper for Albatross Fertilizer in Caribou, and was a past member of the BPW.

     Rowena is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Norma and Paul Stefanik of Glastonbury, CT; her grandchil- dren, Elizabeth Meyers, Debra Lesmeister and her husband, Timothy, Gale Mowry, Carol Andrews and her partner, Rick Reid, Nancy Stefanik and her fiancé, Dan Lohse, Paul Stefanik, III and his wife, Beth, Diane Stefanik and Jane Donahue and her husband, Kevin, and eight great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and friends at White Oaks Senior Living. She was predeceased by her brother, Gordon Shorey and two sisters, Eva Olmstead and Marion Cyr.

     A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Monday, Sept. 21 at 10 a.m. at St. Dunstan Church, Glastonbury, CT. Burial will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Caribou Wednesday, Sept. 23 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memo- rial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 5 Brookside Dr., P.O.
