McHatten and Higgins ace holes at local courses
Matthew McHatten of Mapleton and Paul Higgins of Presque Isle are the newest members of the hole-in-one club at area golf courses
McHatten scored the first ace of his career during an MMG company tournament held Sept. 11 at Aroostook Valley Country Club in Fort Fairfield. McHatten used an eight-iron on the 142-yard fourth hole. Witnesses were Tom Isherwood of Portland, Curt McCuin of Rutland, Vt. and Josh Bovender of Harrisburg, Pa.
Higgins aced the 146-yard eighth hole at Presque Isle Country Club Sept. 22, also his first career hole-in-one in 60 years of golfing. Joe Olore, Steve Bennett and Mark Higgins witnessed the shot.
