GREATER HOULTON Christian Academy is gearing up for their Annual Harvest Festival & Public Auction this Saturday, Oct. 10. Outdoor fun begins at 10 a.m.; the auction will kickoff at 11 a.m. Checking out the wide variety of items up for bid including an Old Town kayak, quilts, lots of gift certificates, home decor and much more, from left, are Leanne Ross, Aleyah Matheson, Sadie Thompson and Silas Nadeau. All proceeds will benefit the GHCA Annual Fund.
“Our volunteer coordinators make this such a fun event every year,” says Deb Jacques, GHCA Annual Fund chair. “Attendees have a great time bidding on over 300 items. Auctioneer Wayne Watson really knows how to interact with the crowd and encourage the friendly bidding competitions for which this event has become known.”
This auction offers something for everyone and items will continue to come in daily through October 10. Organizers are excited to have a kayak, homemade quilts, a potting bench, gift certificates and items from local merchants, dessert items, homemade meals, and much more.
“It’s a great way to do some early Christmas shopping,” explains Jacques. “We are grateful for a generous community who really supports this event. Please check out the GHCA Facebook page to keep updated on all the donated items.”
GHCA is committed to helping provide an affordable Christian education for area families and fundraising efforts, like the auction, help GHCA keep the cost of tuition lower than the actual cost of running the school.
