Two local electricity companies will be conducting planned power outages in the coming days to relocate power lines or replace faulty equipment.
Houlton Water Company will conduct its power outage on Saturday, from 4-6:30 a.m. in order to change out faulty equipment at the Carys Mills substation. The following areas will be affected: Hodgdon, Linneus, New Limerick and Ludlow.
If needed, the rain date for the change-out will be the same time, but on Sunday. For more information or concerns with this planned outage call HWC at 532-2259.
Eastern Maine Electric Cooperative is planning a power outage on Tuesday, Oct. 13, from 6-9 a.m. affecting the Route 1 corridor from Brookton north to Orient. The outage is for the purpose of relocating power lines, and will affect co-op members in Brookton, Forest City, Danforth, Bancroft, Haynesville, Wytoplitlock, Weston, and Orient.
