PRESQUE ISLE & FORT FAIRFIELD — Mildred Faye (Knight) Bell, 95, wife of the late Loomis E. Bell, went home to be with her Lord Wednesday evening, September 23, 2015, at a Bangor healthcare facility. 

She was born September 22, 1920, in Fort Fairfield, the daughter of William Perry and Amber (Austin) Knight. She was a graduate of the Fort Fairfield High School, class of 1939 and had been employed for a number of years at the White Front Drug Store in Fort Fairfield and later worked at Avis Dow’s Dress Shop in Fort Fairfield. 

Mildred had been a member of the United Parish Church in Fort Fairfield for many years where she was active with the United Parish Woman, the United Parish Bible Study and the United Parish Prayer Circle. While residing in Presque Isle, Mildred attended the Grant Memorial United Methodist Church. She had been a lifelong member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Goodwill Chapter, Fort Fairfield until its disbandment, and later became affiliated with the Lunar Chapter of O.E.S. No 126, Presque Isle. 

Mildred truly enjoyed living at Leisure Gardens in Presque Isle, and she truly cherished the many friends she made there that became her extended family. She looked forward to bingo, and winning always made her day. Mildred and her sister Dorothy could often be seen in their power chairs shopping at the Aroostook Centre Mall, and she was best known for her stylish dress, every hair in place and beautiful nails. Mildred lived life to its fullest and was truly greatful for everyday God gave her. 

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bell was predeceased by her husband, Loomis, on March 5, 1982; one granddaughter, Tracy Lynn Bell, on January 10, 1990; two brothers, Winston, and Kenneth Knight; two sisters, Melba  Field, and Sarah Carson. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Martha Bell of Greene and Ocala, FL; one daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Keith Boulier of Presque Isle; one sister, Dorothy White of Presque Isle; three grandchildren, Lori Ann Jacques and her husband, Dan, of Greene, Stephanie Wark and her husband, Jason, of Caribou, Christopher Boulier of Presque Isle; three great- grandchildren, Cody Merrill of Presque Isle, Jessica Jacques of Greene, Parker Wark of Caribou; numerous nieces and nephews. 

Friends called Tuesday September 29, 2015, from noon to 1 p.m. at the Grant Memorial United Methodist Church on  Fleetwood Street in Presque Isle where the funeral service was conducted at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Christopher Dare officiating. 

A time of continued fellowship with refreshments followed in the church reception area. Interment took place at 4:00 p.m. at the Riverside Cemetery, Fort Fairfield.  Those who wish may contribute in memory of Mrs. Bell to the Fort Fairfield Alumni Association, P.O.
