SIROIS, Theresa Genevieve, 87, Caribou, at Mars Hill, October 1, 2015. Arrangements are under the care of Lancaster Morgan Funeral Home, Caribou.
CARIBOU – Theresa Genevieve Sirois, 87, went to her heavenly home on October 1, 2015, in Mars Hill. Her devotion to her family and her strong faith in God ultimately gave her peace during her long struggle with breast cancer.
Theresa was born to the late Joseph and Eva Bouchard, a farmer and a homemaker, in Saint David, ME, on September 4, 1928. She grew up in a large, hardworking, loving family with ten siblings. She was immersed in the Catholic faith that would be her lifelong support from an early age. In her late teenage years, Theresa was studying to be a Nun, but received a calling for motherhood. While working as a Certified Nurse’s Aid in Hartford, CT, she met and married Rosaire Joseph Sirois.
Theresa was blessed with a large and loving family. She raised six children with patience, discipline and love. From the very beginning, she dedicated her children to God and encouraged them to explore the beauty of the gospel. She always led by example and put her family first.
Theresa was a caregiver at heart. She worked as a Certified Nurse’s Aid for many years at the Caribou Nursing home and The Visiting Nurses of Aroostook. She was very patient and gentle to the people she cared for. She always had time to answer questions about the Lord and helped many find peace during their end of life care.
Theresa is survived by her children, Gregory, Rosemarie, Donn, Grace and Jennifer; 15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rosaire J. Sirois; and daughter, Annmarie McCrossin.
The family held a private service on October 5, 2015, at Lancaster Morgan Funeral Home and Theresa was buried at the Sacred Heart Parish Cemetery in North Caribou. Online condolences may be shared at www.lancastermorgan.com.
