Rotary Club

The Mars Hill Rotary Club met Oct. 6 at the Aroostook Health Center. The guest speaker was Molly Shaw from Bigrock Transportation.
The company is part of the Roadrunner organization. Bigrock employs over 50 people in its Mars Hill office, with 25 outside offices in the United States and Canada. They also have 27 sister companies and 17 terminals under the Roadrunner umbrella.
Shaw spoke about some of the changes in the trucking industry due to Department of Transportation regulations. The company works hard to ensure that all their trucks are running according to regulations. Driving hours are closely checked using electronic logbooks and random drug testing is done to a percentage of the drivers quarterly.
