ACCLAIMED CANADIAN ARTIST Judith Saunders from Fosterville, New Brunswick is shown with an acrylic on canvas diptych painting titled “A Golden Morning.” The painting is one of a series of 30 paintings titled “Nature” that includes many images from the Chiputneticook Lakes area of Maine.

Judith Saunders will present the first major showing of her series titled “Nature” at the Best Western Plus Hotel at 123 Gallop Court in Woodstock on Thursday, Oct. 15 from 2-9 p.m. A reception will be held at 7 p.m.

Many of the paintings are from the Chiputneticook Lakes area of Western New Brunswick.

The series includes 30 acrylic paintings and took over five years to complete. Judith wanted to have her first public exhibition of the completed series in the Woodstock area because she has had so much support for her art from the people of Western New Brunswick. It will be the first time most of the paintings have been viewed by the public.

Her first solo art show was held in Woodstock in 1979 and since then she has had 47 solo exhibitions and 88 group shows in her art career that spans 36 years.

Working full-time as an artist with many field trips to remote areas, Saunders is a painter who fulfills her promise with many well-attended and well-received solo exhibitions and an impressive body of artworks: many an older artist would envy her prodigious output of acrylic landscapes.
