LAVALLEY, Alteen Monson, 83, PRESQUE ISLE, at Mars Hill, October 18, 2015. A graveside service will be held 1 p.m., Wednesday Oct. 21, 2015, at Riverside Cemetery, Fort Fairfield. Arrangements are under the care of Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, Presque Isle.
PRESQUE ISLE – Alteen Monson LaValley, 83, a beloved mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully Sunday Oct. 18, 2015, at the Aroostook Health Center in Mars Hill. She was born Nov. 22, 1931, in Wade, the daughter of Burton and Eva (Alley) Randall.
She was a member of the Presque Isle Wesleyan Church, a former member of the Fort Fairfield VFW Auxillary, and the DAV Chapter 10 in Presque Isle. She enjoyed cooking and knitting.
She is survived by a daughter, Sharrill Joslin and her husband, Francis of East Falmouth, MA; two sisters, Florence Howe Kinney of Washburn, and Eva Berry of Presque Isle; two grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Alteen was predeceased by her first husband, Basil Monson; eight siblings, George, Eugene, LaForest, Forest and Sheldon Randall, Lula Lovely, Abie Bonner, and June Boyce.
A graveside service will be held 1 p.m., Wednesday Oct. 21, 2015, at Riverside Cemetery, Fort Fairfield, with Rev. Bruce Blakney officiating.
