    CASEY, Theresa M., 79, ASHLAND, at Fort Kent, October 23, 2015. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family in the parish cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Lajoie Funeral Home, Ashland.

    ASHLAND – Theresa M. Casey, 79, died peacefully Friday, October 23, 2015, at CrossWinds Residential Care Center, Fort Kent. She was born March 15, 1936, in St. Agatha, a daughter of the late Ernest and Eva (Michaud) Chasse.
    After relocating to Ashland from Connecticut in 1966, Theresa and her husband owned and operated former Ron’s Service on the Portage Road. Working together, they loved assisting locals and passing motorists in their store for many years until they sold it in 1986. She and her husband also founded Casey’s Trailer Park in 1969.
    She loved being outdoors and enjoyed dropping a line into a favorite fishing spot. Theresa also crocheted many afghans throughout the years, sharing her precious gifts with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be fondly remembered for her beautiful and gracious smile, which she never hesitated to share with her family and friends.
    She is survived by two children, Karen Lovely and her husband, David, of Mapleton and Kevin Casey and his wife, Peggy, of Powder Springs, GA; four brothers, Philip Chasse of Meriden, CT, Raymond Chasse and his wife, Fern, of Portage Lake, Ronald Chasse and his wife, Sharon, and David Chasse and his wife, Mary Ellen, all of Ashland; three grandchildren, Troy Casey, Jessica Putnam and David Casey; two great-grandchildren, Torrie Casey and Colt Putnam; and many nieces and nephews.
    Besides her parents, Theresa was predeceased by her husband, Ronald C. Casey in 1999; and five siblings, Cecile Rafford, June Chasse, Gilbert Chasse, Richard Chasse, and Clarence Chasse.
    A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, October 27, 2015, at St. Mark’s Catholic Church, Allen Farm Road, Ashland. Relatives and friends greeted the family 9-10:45 a.m., Tuesday morning at the church. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family in the parish cemetery. Arrangements are a entrusted to Lajoie Funeral Home, 114 Exchange St., P.O. Box 39, Ashland.
