Auction Items Sought
St. Mark’s and Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Churches are looking for items to be donated for their upcoming Dessert and Silent Auction scheduled for December.
At this time, the church council is looking for items to be donated for the silent auction. Items can be anything from a gift certificate to handmade items or themed gift baskets, to note just a few ideas. All donated items should be dropped off between Nov. 23-28, 2015 at either St. Mark’s Church hall in Ashland or at the Portage Lake Town Hall.
All money raised by the event will go towards the heating costs of both churches. Contact church council President Sheila Nemer for more information at 227-0836.
Voices concert postponed
The Aroostook River Voices fall concert, that had been planned for Sunday, Nov. 8 at the Ashland District School Auditorium, has been postponed until sometime in January.
According to the group’s Facebook page, “Due to a family loss with one of our music directors, and the need for that individual to be away for a memorial service, our November concert has been postponed to January. See you then!”
