Class gets kudos on state testing

     FORT FAIRFIELD, Maine — The senior class at Fort Fairfield High School was recognized by SAD 20 Superintendent Marc Gendron and Principal John Kaleta for their accomplishments on the Smarter Balance statewide assessment test.

     In the testing, 78 percent of the class demonstrated proficiency in English language arts (ELA) and literacy.  This outstanding result is significantly higher than the state average proficiency of 47 percent on this particular assessment.

     In mathematics, the Fort Fairfield High School scores were even more statistically significant.  In this educational area the seniors recorded a proficiency rate 108 percent higher than the state average by scoring a 52 percent proficiency rate versus 25 percent for the state.

     According to school officials, everyone in the educational community at MSAD 20, from grades pre-K-12, shares in celebrating and honoring the hard work that these results represent.
