SHOP TALK — Judy Dionne and Galen O’Leary, representatives from Huber Engineered Wood, speak to students at the Region Two College/Career Fair held Friday, Oct. 16, in Houlton.
There were 12 businesses from the northern part of Maine, five sections of armed services, and 15 colleges that attended. Our area students were able to have hands on experiences with several presentations and engaged in one on one conversations with the representatives from each entity.
“Students who asked questions put their names in a drawing for gift cards from each sending school,” explained Hollie McPartland, Region Two program counselor. “Overall it was a great day! A huge thank you goes out to all the people who helped! We will look forward to next year’s College/Career Fair that will be held at the armory in hopes for bigger and better!”
Region Two, in its continued effort to help students, will host an Open House on Nov. 12, at 6 p.m. with financial aid information.
