Colleen M. Heimann
SPRINGFIELD MA. — Colleen M. Heimann, 64, of Springfield, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully at home; surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, October 21, 2015. Born June 29, 1951 in Caribou, Maine, she was the daughter of Everett W. Sperry and Barbara J. (McBreairty) Sperry.
Colleen graduated from Caribou high school in 1969. She later married Charles H. Heimann on October 25, 1969. Shortly after her marriage Colleen began a career in banking. She moved to Springfield, Massachusetts in July of 1981 where she continued her career at Bank of America Longmeadow branch.
Colleen loved and served the Lord faithfully. She was actively involved in children’s ministry at Bethany Assembly of God in Agawam, Massachusetts for the past 28 years. Colleen and her husband loved to travel and she enjoyed preparing delicious meals for her guests. She loved flip flops and the beach. Colleen was a doting grandmother who adored visiting her granddaughter Scarlet in Pennsylvania. She had a generous spirit and dearly loved her family. Colleen demonstrated tremendous courage and grace that was an inspiration in the face of a difficult illness.
She is survived by her husband, Charles H. Heimann, daughter Stacy E. Heimann, son Matthew D. Weimann, daughter-in-law Sonia R. Weimann, and granddaughter Scarlet M. Weimann; her sister Belinda J. Holmes and husband Peter A. Holmes and their children Ethan and Aaron, her sister Sara L. Holmes and husband Richard C. Holmes and their children Noah and Victoria, her brother Rodney L. Sperry and his daughter Melissa, sister-in-law Grace Heimann, sister-in-law Evelyn Perseo and her husband Tom Perseo. Colleen will be missed dearly by many nieces, nephews and wonderful friends. She was predeceased by her brother Dana E. Sperry and her father Everett W. Sperry.
Funeral services were held on Monday, October 26, 2015 in Bethany Assembly of God, 580 Main St., Agawam, Massachusetts. Private burial will be held in Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, Agawam, Massachusetts, at the convenience of the family. www.foratierefuneralhome.com
