City’s historic trolley offers ‘Molly Holiday’

PRESQUE ISLE, Maine The Presque Isle Historical Society’s Molly the Trolley will ring in the holiday season with three events this year.

The fun begins this Friday night, when the trolley will be parked along Main Street during Main Street Mania from 6-10 p.m. to kick off the holiday shopping season in downtown Presque Isle.
Shoppers are invited to jump aboard the trolley for a free cookie and to find unusual holiday gifts, including a “color me” Molly the Trolley mug for kids, historic fire station mugs and ornaments, a sterling silver Star City necklace, sterling silver official Presque Isle charm bracelet, historic map reproductions and much more. The Society’s 2016 Collectible Calendar will also be available. The theme for 2016 is “Presque Isle’s Rural One-Room Schoolhouses”.
Next, the trolley will participate in the annual Holiday Light Parade on Saturday, Dec. 5. The public may purchase tickets to ride aboard the heated trolley during the parade. However, seats are limited and reservations are required.
Lastly, Molly the Trolley will embark on a “Christmas Lights Tour and Carol Sing-along” on Friday, Dec. 18 at 7:00 p.m. Seats are limited and advanced reservations are required.
Anyone interested in purchasing tickets for the parade ride or the lights tour should call the Society at (207) 762-1151 or e-mail pihistoricalsociety@hotmail.com.
