Houlton High School students present Godspell

HOULTON, Maine — The Houlton Community Arts Center will be bustling with activity this Friday, Saturday and Sunday as Houlton High School hosts the production “Godspell.”

“Godspell” is a dramatic re-telling of the biblical parables found in the Gospel according to Saint Matthew. With themes ranging from brotherhood, friendship, and love, to empathy, compassion, and forgiveness, Godspell is certain to take any audience member on a rousing journey into the human mind and soul.

The show features expertly choreographed dance routines by Sandy Hartley of the Houlton School of Dance; high-energy dialogue from coach Pam Chernesky; powerful vocal solos from the cast, coached by RSU 29 musical director Jason Anderson, and a professional band lead by RSU 29 band director Kevin Mania, this play is bound to leave with a new (or old) song in your soul and a renewed spirit as we enter the Holiday season.

Showtimes are: Friday, Nov. 20 and Saturday, Nov. 21 – box office opens at 6 p.m., doors open at 6:30 p.m., and show starts at 7 p.m.; and Sunday Nov. 22, box office opens at 1 p.m., doors open at 1:30 p.m., and show starts at 2 p.m. Running time for the show is about 1 hour, 45 minutes with one 20-minute intermission.
