Acadia hires loan manager
FORT KENT — Acadia Federal Credit Union is pleased to announce that Michele Martin has accepted the position of loan manager. She stepped into her new position with Acadia Nov. 12, returning to the Acadia family after beginning her career there in 1986.
Michele Martin will manage and oversee lending operations for all five branches of Acadia FCU, which include the main office in Fort Kent and branches in Ashland, Madawaska, St. Agatha and St. Francis.
She will also be responsible for the evaluation and development of lending products and expanding the consumer, commercial and mortgage loan portfolios.
“In my 31 years of being part of the banking industry and holding many different roles, my passion has always been in lending,” said Martin. “Accepting the loan manager position and overseeing consumer and commercial lending in Acadia’s five branches was a very easy decision.”
“We could not be happier with Michele joining our team,” added Luis Sanclemente, Vice President of Acadia FCU. “She has it all: skills, experience and intelligence. She will have an overwhelmingly positive impact on the already-great lending services that we provide our communities.”
Martin resides in Fort Kent with her husband, Albert. They have two children, Lacey Martin of Perham and the late Colby Martin of Fort Kent. She served on the Executive Board of Directors for the Greater Fort Kent Area Chamber of Commerce for six years, is a past member of the Business Advisory Board for the University of Maine at Fort Kent, and is a past volunteer for the annual International Can-Am Crown Sled Dog Race, held in Fort Kent.
