“This is the third year that this post will be hosting the free Thanksgiving meal for all military veterans and current service personnel,” said VFW Commander Richard Norton. “Last year, which was the second time we hosted this event, the Presque Isle Elks offered their assistance. Attendance doubled and everyone truly enjoyed themselves.
“We are extremely excited to again have the Presque Isle Elks work with us in expressing our appreciation to our military veterans and the men and women currently serving our nation,” added Norton.
Elks Exalted Ruler Alan Harding said, “November is Veterans Remembrance Month for all Elks throughout the nation. Here in Presque Isle, we are so pleased to have been asked to assist our local VFW post in organizing a wonderful event to express our appreciation for our veteran servicemen and women, as well as those currently serving.
“As long as there are veterans, the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks will not only never forget them, we will assist our veterans whenever a request is made,” added Harding.
