Houlton — Betty Jean Belyea Johnson Lindsay, 82, went to be with her Lord November 8, 2015, at Houlton Regional Hospital surrounded by her family. She was born September 27, 1933 at Gardiner, ME, the daughter of the late Perley A. and Mildred (Newton) Belyea, Sr.
Betty worked many years at JJ Newberry’s, United Cleaning Center and Traveler’s/Big Stop. She graduated from Houlton High School and attended Ricker Classical Institute. Also attended Houlton Full Gospel Assembly. Her greatest joy were her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Betty is survived by her six children, Randy Johnson of Hodgdon, Sharon Welton of Hodgdon, Deanie Ivey and her husband, Dale, of Houlton, Karen Burtt and her husband, Frank, of Monticello, Christy Alward and her husband, Dale, of Florida, Adam Johnson and his wife, Isabelle, of Gorham; 21 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Margie Burnette and her husband, Cecil, of Mass., Dolores Farrell of Houlton; one brother, Malcolm Davis and his wife, Norma, of Houlton; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of many years Paul Johnson; her parents; one brother, Perley Belyea, Jr., and two sisters, Barbara Tolla and Eleanor Burns.
Friends called at the Dunn Funeral Home 12 noon Saturday, November 14, until the time of the service 1:00 PM with Rev. Kevin Hatch officiating. Interment was in the Littleton cemetery. A time of fellowship followed the interment at the Houlton Full Gospel Assembly.
