    FARR, Lois Ann, 70, ASHLAND, at Bangor, November 15, 2015. A funeral service will be celebrated at 9 a.m. on Saturday, November 21, at Union Congregational Church, Ashland. Arrangements are under the care of Lajoie Funeral Home, Ashland.

    ASHLAND – Lois Ann Farr, 70, died peacefully Sunday, November 15, 2015, at a Bangor hospital. She was born September 5, 1945, in Masardis, a daughter of the late Rosalvo and Ruth (Porter) Orcutt.
    Lois worked for a short time as a nurse in Virginia before relocating back to Ashland, where she worked 12 years at Pinkham Lumber, several years at Ashland Food Mart and several years as a Sheriff Deputy with the Aroostook Sheriff’s Department. She was a volunteer with Ashland Union Congregational Church Ladies’ Aide, assisting her religious community with refreshments following events and funeral services.
    Lois enjoyed much of what the Maine Woods had to offer through hunting and fishing, many times with her husband in tow. She also loved to bake delicious goodies and knit lovely crafts to share with her family and friends.
    She is survived by her husband of almost 29 years, Kelly R. Farr Jr. of Ashland; a son, Mark A. Farr and his wife, Joyce of Washburn; three siblings, William Orcutt and his wife, Jannett of Eureka, MT, John Orcutt and his wife, Linda of Garfield, and Lorene Singer of Fredericksburg, VA; two granddaughters, Kelsey and Karissa Farr; and several nieces and nephews.
    Besides her parents, Lois was predeceased by her sister, Martha Prue.
    A funeral service will be celebrated at 9 a.m. on Saturday, November 21, 2015, at Union Congregational Church, Sheridan Road, Ashland. Relatives and friends may greet the family Friday evening 5-8 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in Ashland Municipal Cemetery.
