On Tuesday Nov. 10th, the Jobs for Maine’s Graduates (JMG) program at Hodgdon High School held its annual Veterans Breakfast.
JMG teacher Joe Fagnant was pleased to see that over 100 veterans and family members were in attendance. The honored guests were treated to a free breakfast cooked and served by JMG students on the day before Veterans Day.
After breakfast a special ceremony took place to thank the veterans for their service. Musical selections were sung by the Hodgdon High School Chorus and Mill Pond School Fifth-Grade Chorus.
This year’s guest speaker was Jon Doyle, a former Marine and a founder of the law firm Doyle & Nelson in Augusta, who serves on the Jobs for Maine’s Graduates Board of Directors.
All veterans in attendance were recognized for their outstanding service to their country. A special thank-you letter from U.S. Congressman Bruce Poliquin was read by staff member Kim Rohn.
Jobs for Maine’s Graduates is a statewide nonprofit that works within Maine’s public schools and colleges to help students reach their fullest potential. JMG serves more than 5,000 students from grades six through college, in 85 programs throughout Maine.
