Rotary Club radio-TV auction starts Tuesday

Members of the Presque Isle Rotary Club are wrapping up preparations for their biggest fund-raising event of the year — the 68th annual Radio and TV Auction.

This year’s three-night program which starts Tuesday, Dec. 1 and continues Wednesday, Dec. 2 and Thursday, Dec. 3, 2015 will be broadcast live from the Northeastland Hotel in downtown Presque Isle.
Co-chairs for this year’s fundraiser are Gina LeBlanc-Eggert and Many Pooler-Hall. They join more than 100 Presque Isle Rotarians who are hard at work making last-minute preparations for this year’s auction. Last year the club and community raised more than $375,000 for the Community Center, as well as over $30,000 for other worthwhile organizations and non-profit endeavors.
This year’s proceeds will benefit seven non-profit organizations in the region as well as raise funds for this year’s special project, Quoggy Jo Ski Center.
The auction can be followed in a variety of ways: on Time Warner Cable-Channel 9 cable television, on the radio at Big Country 97 (96.9FM), on Facebook @presqueislerotary, on Twitter @PIRotary, or on the club’s website www.presqueislerotary.org.
Since it’s a live auction, the public is also welcome to drop by the event at the hotel’s downstairs conference/banquet room.
Bids are only accepted by calling these phone numbers: 207-764-6100 or 1-866-902-2003 during the auction, which takes place in half-hour blocks between 7 and 10 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday night. Unique items are up for bid every half hour and there are also high-ticket items available as one-night only specials and three-night items.
