Local police officers saw the vehicle run through a stop sign on Route 89 at the Main Street intersection at 12:42 a.m. Nov. 22 and pulled it over, according to information released on the Limestone Police Department Facebook page.
According to the Limestone PD, the individuals in the car consented to a search in which the police found drug paraphernalia. Additionally, several Oxycodone pills were found in the driver’s possession.
Police arrested the two passengers on the grounds that they currently had warrants, and arrested the driver for unlawful possession of scheduled drugs and violation of conditional release. An off-duty U.S. Customs and Border Protection officer stopped to assist Limestone police when he noticed the ratio of suspects to officers.
Once taken into police custody at the Limestone PD, the two passengers unsuccessfully attempted to make bail.
With the assistance of the United States Border Patrol, the three were subsequently transported to the Aroostook County Jail in Houlton.
Since the three individuals are still being investigated, the Limestone Police Department is not providing additional information at this time.
